David Einhorn’s hedge fund Greenlight Capital bought new stakes in Hertz Global Holdings and Rite Aid Corp., both of which are former Greenlight investments.
The firm bought 10.3 million Rite Aid shares and 3.3 million Hertz shares, according to a quarterly filing Monday.
Greenlight’s other new holdings include Calpine and Amaya
While Apple Inc. remains Greenlight’s largest position, worth about $655.3 million at the end of the quarter, the firm reduced its holdings by about 1.36 million shares to 6.85 million.
Among other 13F filings from major investors, Berkshire Hathaway increased its Apple stake, but Soros Fund Management eliminated its position.
